We live in a society that celebrates patriarchy since ages but at the same time men are categorised into some segments. If you go beyond these segments, you would end up being exception. I do not understand why if anyone (irrespective of any gender) does something in life that goes beyond limitations would be considered to be an exception? I look for the answer till now.
For myself I can not say if I am an exception or not, but I took up learning dance as a passion. In our society where hypothetically women are meant to be dancers and only females are allowed to learn dance. If you are a man and if you learn dance, people would look at you in a sarcastic way. Especially if you learn Indian Classical Dance being a man, the taunts go unimaginable. May be I can not be explicit about these taunts as it is a school magazine and if I use these taunts it would be befallen into adult write up section. Dance, which is a beautiful way to celebrate life, beautify not only you, your way to emote emotions, can be gender specified? I am leaving this as an open question to my readers. Those love dance just follow your passion. Do not care what people would say about taking up dance as a profession being a man. Your life, your decision. What I got was tremendous support from my family, my school friends and my respected teachers. I had zeal to follow my dreams and never listened to anyone regarding this matter. Always be positive and keep motivating others in a positive way.
